Transform old pages into new masterpieces at our Blackout Poetry Workshop! Join us on Independent Bookstore Day for a community creative session where words become art, and create your own blackout poems with provided materials. No experience necessary!
Whether you're a published poet or have never written a line of verse, blackout poetry offers a unique, accessible entry into creative expression. It's the perfect blend of visual art and literary craft: a form where you take existing text—like a page from a book—and create something entirely new.
The workshop will be held in our Rare Books Building — right next door to the Midtown Scholar. No registration required, but seats throughout the day are first come, first served. Share your work in an optional mini gallery at the end, or take your creation home.

Time: 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM
