Join WITF at the PUBLIC MEDIA CENTER - at 4801 Lindle Road in Harrisburg - for a conversation and book signing with author and journalist Christopher Mathias, on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at 6 PM.

WITF News democracy reporter Jordan Wilkie will lead a conversation with Mathias about his book, To Catch a Fascist: The Fight to Expose the Radical Right.

An audience Q&A will follow the conversation.

Copies of the book will be available for purchase during the event, and attendees can have them signed following the discussion.

This is a free event in partnership with WITF during the Midtown Scholar Bookstore’s Fall 2026 Authors’ Week.

About the Book

In TO CATCH A FASCIST: The Fight to Expose the Radical Right, investigative reporter Christopher Mathias examines the growth of far-right groups in the United States and the efforts of anti-fascist activists to investigate and document their activities.

Drawing on years of reporting, undercover investigations, firsthand accounts and leaked communications, Mathias explores the people and networks involved and the challenges of reporting on political extremism in the United States.

About the Author

Christopher Mathias is a journalist who has worked at HuffPost, The Guardian, MSNBC, Zeteo and WNYC. His reporting has chronicled the rapid radicalization of the GOP and helped unmask white supremacists’ work as police officers, soldiers, teachers and politicians.

DOORS WILL OPEN AT 5:30 PM for the 6:00 PM Event.

Location and Parking

This is a free, off-site event, to be hosted and held at the WITF Public Media Center, 4801 Lindle Rd., Harrisburg, PA 17111

Free parking is available on-site at the Public Media Center. Guests are welcome to use the main parking lot as well as the lot to the right of the main entrance. Accessible parking spaces are also available next to the entrance for those who need them.
