Introducing “Matter of Fact”: A FREE Quarterly Series with Spotlight PA
Tuesday, June 9th at 6pm
“The Local News Crossroads: How We Got Here — and Where We Go Next”
Real facts. Real people. Real talk. Midtown Scholar Bookstore and Spotlight PA are hosting a free quarterly series of community conversations, panels, and presentations about the most pressing issues shaping our Commonwealth and the people working to make it stronger.
There are more forces at work than ever to silence free and fearless reporting, and there are fewer resources than ever to undertake the independent, unbiased investigative journalism that keeps our government honest and ensures it ultimately answers to “We the People...”
Hear from Spotlight PA CEO & President Christopher Baxter about how our free society and the future of a free press are inextricably linked, in a conversation with David Boardman, who led the Seattle Times to four Pulitzer Prizes before becoming dean of the Klein College of Media and Communication at Temple University in Philadelphia.
Following their conversation, there will be an open and engaging Q&A with the audience.
Where to park:
FREE PARKING is available in the bookstore's dedicated parking lot behind the store, as well as around the neighboring Broad Street Market and in the municipal lot at 6th and Verbeke Streets. Metered street parking is available on the ParkMobile app.
